CS323.Case Study 2

QUESTION: In a multiprogramming and time-sharing environment, several users share the system simultaneously. This situation can result in various security problems. Name at least two of these problems. Can we ensure the same degree of security in a time-share machine as we have in a dedicated machine? Explain your answer

ANSWER: The two various security problems in multiprogramming and time sharing environment if the user share it simultaneously are:
1. One of the user may copy the other user's program or memory space of other user which will cause damage in the memory space of other user. For example, an administrator was updating their company website and the other user is also updating their company website.

2.The back up usage may not be controlled completely and could cause deadlock for certain users. For example, if the first user had a first resource and the first user is also waiting for second resource, and second user had second resource and also waiting for the first resource, the deadlock would exist and neither user would be able to make progress in their program, even though how long the time slots they were allocated.

Computer Architecture Case Study 1

Explain why we need to study Computer Architecture? What is its significance with your field as an IT or CS student? Differentiate Computer Architecture and Computer Organization?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is really important to study about computer architecture for us to learn more about computer specifically in designing which we need to practice in order to know more or learn more about computer architecture, because we all know we can use our knowledge about computer architecture when we find job. We need to study computer architecture so that we can develop our knowledge to make and design a computer parts someday. It also helps us to practice ourselves in designing a computer or anything we want to design.

The significance of computer architecture in my field as an IT student is to apply all my learning's about designing and implementing various parts of the computer. Studying computer architecture helps us to think more designs that we want to make someday in the computer. Studying the computer architecture helps us to develop our knowledge about computer so that someday we can make and design are own computer parts.

The computer architecture emphasizes all decisions of every person to produce a good design which will satisfy the people while computer organization are referring about the abstract of the digital logical design. It is a blueprint to implement design of a various parts a computer while the computer organization is a lower level more concrete and detailed on how to inter connected and how they inter operate in order to implement the ISA.
